New app promises to save couples 200+ hours of planning stress with an AI assistant that actually does the work

BRIGHTON, UK — March 2026 — development studio amillionmonkeys today announced the launch of what it claims is the world's first AI-powered wedding planner, available now on iOS and Android. The app (Knottd) features an AI assistant named Franck that manages key planning tasks including supplier research, email outreach, budget tracking, and timeline management. The assistant remembers each couple's wedding details and can contact venues and suppliers directly on their behalf.

Founder Phil Smith developed the concept after observing his wife's work as a wedding planner. "So much of wedding planning is research and admin — chasing availability, comparing quotes, keeping track of deposits," said Smith. "That's exactly what AI can automate. We built Franck to handle the logistics so couples can enjoy their engagement."

According to Hitched, the average UK wedding in 2024 cost £23,250. Industry research shows couples who don't hire a planner typically spend 200-300 hours on planning tasks. Traditional wedding coordinators charge £2,000–£5,000. Knottd offers a free tier, with premium plans starting at £19.99 per month.
